REGISTRATION MUST BE DONE IN PERSON IN THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT (Old CEDAR) DEPARTMENT.  NO REGISTRATIONS ON-LINE

COURSE TITLE:  PALS Instructor Course 2009

TARGET AUDIENCE:
TGH pediatric healthcare providers motivated to teach, facilitate learning, ensure students acquire the skills needed for successful course completion, and view student assessment as a way to improve individual knowledge and skills.

DATE:  May 01, 2009

TIME:  Sign-in begins at 0730�class begins at 0800 till 1700

LOCATION:
H-005A classroom: located in East Pavilion, lower level across from East entrance elevators.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The American Heart Association designed the PALS Instructor Course to prepare participants to become PALS instructors.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the PALS Instructor Course, instructor candidates will be able to:
>Teach a PALS course using the video and lesson maps in PALS course instructor materials.
>Utilize the new testing materials to conduct skills testing.

PARTICIPANT CREDIT HOURS:
Nursing Continuing Education:  8.0 Contact Hours by TGH Provider NCE #2763
Respiratory Continuing Education: 8.0 Contact Hours by TGH Provider RCE #123
All Other Participants:  8.0 Attendance Credits

FEES:
If you fail to show up for class without providing a written cancellation at least seven days prior to class, you will be charged the $95.00 fee by processing your Payroll Deduction form.  Cancellations must be in writing. Either by e-mail to mrkolettis@tgh.org or written and delivered to the Organizational Development Department office M-F 0700-1630.

REGISTRATION:
Manager written approval with signature is required for class registration and participation. ALL registration is done in person and there is NO on line or Internet registration.
Come to Organizational Development to pick up forms, obtain manager's signature, complete the registration agreement and American Heart Association required PALS Instructor Affiliation Agreement and bring completed forms to OD.  After you receive an e-mail confirming your registration in the class, you may pick up your Instructor materials from Melisa Kolettis in the Main Org. Development Offices Room E-141.

REGISTRATION TIME PERIOD:
Registration will close on Friday, April 24 (7 days before class) to allow adequate preparation time for all participants.
