COURSE TITLE: Basic Computing 101  (2009)

TGH Staff:  PRIOR TO COURSE REGISTRATION or PARTICIPATION: Please confirm your class attendance with Supervisor, Manager, Director, or VP.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an interactive basic computer class for individuals who are new to using the computer or want to improve upon their basic skills.  Participants will learn basic computer terminology, concepts, and  a general introduction to how computers work.  Participants will practice performing basic tasks in Windows such as using a mouse, task bars, scroll bars, word processing, and internet basics.

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
> Describe the basic components of the computer
      >Demonstrate using toolbars, and command menus found in Windows
            o Using the mouse and menu functions in the Windows environment
            o Manipulate Windows and Taskbars
      >Perform basic word processing functions
      >Explore the basics of the internet using Internet Explorer

LOCATION:  Beta Classroom/Organizational Development, East Pavilion

TARGET AUDIENCE: TGH staff new to using computers or those who would like to improve their basic computer skills
