The office of Continuing Professional Studies offers all five New York State Mandated Teacher Certification Seminars. They include:
- School Anti-Violence Education (SAVE)
- Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Fire and Arson Safety
- Child Abuse Identification
- HIV and the Classroom
Online registration is availible through this Web site. Please choose from the seminars listed below.
Payment Option:
MONEY ORDERS or CERTIFIED CHECK - ARE THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PAYMENT FOR THE NYS TEACHER CERTIFICATION SEMINARS.
*** Credit cards, cash, and personal checks are NOT applicable for these seminars. ***
Payment may be made at the seminar location (arrive 15 minutes early).
Please make money order payable to BSC Continuing Professional Studies. One money order or certified check is acceptable for multiple seminar fee payments.

Child Abuse Seminar: Required for all certification-only students, Art Education majors, Elementary Education majors.
- SAVE Seminar: All Education students are required to take a SAVE Seminar
- Alcohol and Other Drugs: Required for all students who graduate/complete programs AFTER December 2003
- Fire and Arson Safety: Required for all students who graduate/complete programs AFTER December 2003.
- AIDS/HIV Exposure Seminars: This seminar is required for Elementary Education majors only.
