CPR-Basic Life Support Class (Healthcare Providers) 2009
This program is open to TGH Employees. Classes are open to non-TGH employees depending on availability of space.
COURSE TITLE:
CPR (BLS) Healthcare Provider Class
TGH Staff: PRIOR TO COURSE REGISTRATION or PARTICIPATION: Please confirm your class attendance with Supervisor, Manager, Director, or VP.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Provides CPR (BLS) training according to American Heart Association (AHA) standards. Program includes lecture, discussion, video presentation, skills practice, skills competency validation, and testing. Upon successful completion, participants will receive the AHA Healthcare Provider completion card.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
> Demonstrate the links in the Chain of Survival
> Demonstrate the procedure for activating the Code Blue team at TGH and EMS outside
> Verbalize the reasons for providing good CPR
> Complete written examination (for Healthcare class)
> Demonstrate competency in performing adult, child and infant CPR

TARGET AUDIENCE:
RNs, LPNs, ARNPs, RTs, PTs, MDs, EMTs, PCTs & other health care staff.
COURSE FEES:
TGH Employees: Free, CPR (BLS) textbooks are available in TGH Medical Library.
Students: $25.00 (Textbook Included)
All Others: $ 35.00 (Textbook Included)
