Preparing for the Job Search--ONLINE

ONLINE - Preparing for the Job Search
Instructor: Ted Balser
Dates: Wednesdays, November 4 - 18, 2009 (3 sessions)

Fee: $22 General Public $20 UW Oshkosh Alumni & Students/Evergreen Members

In this online course you will learn how to research companies and industries, and how to use the Internet as part of the job search process.  You will learn techniques for behavioral interviewing, how to prepare for the interviewing process, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and what attire you should wear.  You will also receive tips on how to end the interview.

Your instructor will be using the educational software Desire2Learn (D2L) for the delivery and teaching of the online courses.  To familiarize yourself with D2L or if you would like a refresher, please visit the online tutorials at http://www.uwosh.edu/llce/cnl/tools-and-resources/d2l-tutorials/.

Early registration is recommended. All program fees are due no later than 10 days before the program. Fees include instruction and instructional handouts.

Registration deadline: Your registration is requested 10 days prior to each program. After that date, call the Office of Continuing Education and Extension to determine program availability. Enrollment is limited.

Cancellation policy: If UW Oshkosh's Office of Continuing Education and Extension receives notice of cancellation 10 full business days before the start of a program, you will receive a full refund of fees minus a $15 processing charge. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 10 full business days before the program begins. Substitutions for these programs are accepted. If possible, please inform us of such substitutions before the program. UW Oshkosh reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment, as well as the right to limit enrollment due to demand.
