Herbology was an important-and required-class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. What are the real sources of Professor Pomona Sprout's classroom experiments? In this class, we will examine a variety of Renaissance herbals and other medicinal works, all providing insights into the imaginary world of herbology at Hogwarts. You will look at some of the oldest books in the Lenhardt Library's Rare Book Collection in order to understand the Renaissance underpinnings of Harry Potter. Children over 10 are welcome to register with
an attending registered adult.
