One-semester course. Topics: basic principles of psychology are explored. Students personalize their study of the subject by selecting 10 or more chapter topics from 14 in the text, which cover topics such as: biological psychology, sensation and perception, learning and memory, thought and language, intelligence and creativity, social psychology, motivation, emotion, personality, abnormal psychology, psychotherapy, and health psychology. Students conduct a thorough review of literature that addresses a hypothesis of interest and write a formal research paper. 6 assignments, 2 exams
