Interactions between Psychiatric Medications & Substances of Abuse, Jan. 25 - Mar. 14, 2010
This seven-week course explores the needs of clients who are taking prescribed medications and also have substance use problems. The most common interactions between psychiatric medications and substances of abuse will be discussed. The course covers drug interaction theory, the similarities between symptoms of mental health problems and substance use, and how to prevent and handle common interactions. The recommended prerequisite is the online course Basic Pharmacology in Mental Health and Substance Use.
